Meet Your Counselor!
I’ve been a counselor since 2018, and have been supporting clients with eating disorders since 2020. My journey in eating disorder care began in the United States, at the country’s largest inpatient eating disorder treatment center. While there, I provided individual, group, and family counseling for a diverse caseload of clients. I later joined the management team of an outpatient eating disorder program, supporting those stepping down from intensive, 24/7 care and continuing their recovery journeys at home.
My time in higher levels of care provided me with invaluable experience in supporting those with severe, and sometimes lifelong, eating disorders to challenge the behaviors and thoughts keeping them stuck, and build a life worth living outside of their eating disorder. It’s been the honor of my life to hold space for and support my clients through their individual journeys. I love being a counselor, and can’t imagine doing anything else.
I moved to the Netherlands in 2026 with the hope of providing a much-needed service: a weight-neutral, collaborative approach to eating disorder care. My move merged my passion for adventure and culture with my passion for supporting clients in their recovery journeys.
My approach to eating disorder care is informed by my own challenges with disordered eating and my personal path to food freedom. When you work with me, you can trust that you’re sitting in the counseling space with someone who truly gets it and understands what you’re going through in a way that not everyone might.
Outside of the office, you can find me taking my dog for a gorgeous scenic walk, exploring my new home base of Maastricht, trying new restaurants with friends, voraciously reading thrillers, or planning my next vacation.
Hi there! I’m Kristin Siciliano.
Issues I Support With:
Eating Disorders/Disordered Eating
Your relationship with food and your body shouldn't feel like a constant battle. I work with clients struggling with disordered eating patterns, body image concerns, and diagnosed eating disorders to help untangle the emotional roots of these struggles and build a more peaceful, sustainable relationship with eating and self-image.
Trauma & PTSD
Trauma can leave you feeling stuck, on edge, or disconnected from yourself and others, even long after the event has passed. I provide a safe, supportive space to process difficult experiences at your own pace, helping you move through trauma's impact rather than being defined by it. I also offer Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR) for the treatment of trauma.
Anxiety
Whether it shows up as racing thoughts, constant worry, or physical tension, anxiety can make everyday life feel overwhelming. I help clients understand what's driving their anxiety and develop practical tools to feel more grounded, calm, and in control. We'll explore the underlying triggersand work collaboratively to build coping strategies that fit your life.
Depression
Depression can make even small tasks feel heavy and disconnect you from things that once brought you joy. Together, we'll work to understand the patterns contributing to how you're feeling and rebuild a sense of motivation, connection, and hope. This often involves examining the thoughts, relationships, and life circumstances that may be reinforcing low mood, while also identifying your personal strengths and sources of meaning.
Life Transitions
Career changes, relationship shifts, becoming a parent, loss, relocation — major life transitions can stir up uncertainty even when they're positive. I support clients in navigating change with more clarity and confidence, helping you find your footing during periods of transformation. We'll work together to process any grief, fear, or ambivalence that comes with change, while also identifying the strengths and resources you already have to draw on.
Relationship Issues
Whether you're working through conflict, communication struggles, trust issues, or patterns that keep repeating in your relationships, I help clients build healthier connections with partners, family, friends, and ultimately, with themselves. We'll look closely at the dynamics and communication styles that may be causing friction, as well as any underlying beliefs or past experiences shaping how you relate to others.
Evidence-Based Care
Throughout my years of practice, I have found and incorporated many evidence-based interventions into my counseling approach. I tend to gravitate towards Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI), but I believe that many of the skills identified in these modalities work best in conjunction with others and don’t focus my practice on just one in particular.
What to expect from counseling with me:
Trauma Informed Support
I have extensive experience supporting individuals who have previously experienced trauma, and it’s why I prioritize creating a safe environment for my clients. I take care to understand the way trauma has impacted you, explore the symptoms you are experiencing, and work collaboratively with you to navigate counseling at a pace that feels comfortable to you.
An Individualized Approach
I strongly believe that counseling is not a “one size fits all” process — what works for one may not always work for all. I work collaboratively with my clients to explore and decide what counseling approach works best for them, and I consider counseling to be an ongoing, open conversation about how I can best support you.
Honesty
I strive to be a trustworthy provider who both creates a safe space for healing and delivers difficult truths when necessary. I primarily characterize my counseling style as gentle, but direct and firm. An important part of my role is telling you what you need to hear, even if it’s not necessarily what you want to hear — know that I will always approach this duty with empathy and compassion for you.
An Inclusive Environment
I aim for my practice to be a truly safe and supportive space for folks of all races, colors, cultures, religions, spiritual practices, genders, ages, socioeconomic statuses, sexual orientations, gender identity or gender expressions, relationship statuses or configurations, national origins, or physical and mental abilities. Everybody and every body is welcome here.
Warmth, Compassion, and Fun
My first and foremost goal as a therapist is to build an authentic, genuine connection with my clients. I want to get to know you and all of the joys, successes, and challenges that make up your experience. While I take my role as your counselor very seriously, I don’t take myself too seriously and believe that laughter is some of the best medicine — I value incorporating humor into my practice whenever possible.
